Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. (1 Tim 4:12)
Within this verse we find some profound guidance to you as young people:
- to be an example within our way of speaking. This implicates that we should shy away from flippant talk and slander,
- to react in righteousness and mercy,
- to walk within the Spirit’s guidance,
- to keep oneself pure before God.
These are the very virtues that young people should strive after. These virtues should also be sought after by your friends. It is wonderful to remind one another of these attributes as we seek fellowship with one another. God knows how to keep His own in this world, we can ask Him for it. Also, should there be things amiss, we can make that right with our Creator.
