Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.” (John 14:23-24)
These are profound words, a message from God the Father to us. If we love Him, we will live our lives according to the Scripture. To keep His word, we need to do what He says. When facing difficulties, His Word gives us clear direction on how to act, the attitude required from us etc. It is easy to do that which is asked if we love that person, even more so with God. Our love for Him is expressed by our obedience to Him. This portion also holds a promise, that if we listen to His voice, He will dwell with us, making our bodies His temple. What a wonderful promise!
