And He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” (Mark 8:15)
Within this Scripture, Jesus charges His disciples to beware of the leaven of the pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Leaven works through the dough, and may remain undetected until a situation becomes heated. In a heated environment true colors start to show. Is there some leaven in your life? Something just you are aware of? An area in your life that remains hidden. Jesus came as Light into the world. As we draw closer to Him, He reveals all that is in our hearts. What mercy to bring these things to Him and experience His salvation power.
