Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. (Prov 18:20)

Within this portion, the working of the tongue becomes evident, for it hods the power of death and life. Our words either kill or bring life to those around us. Not only the hearers are affected by it but also the speaker. Both will eat its fruit, either bitter or sweet.
