Salt

For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. (Mark 9:49)

Within this portion we learn that Christians need to be salted with fire. It is a purifying fire, a fire that burns all iniquity away. A fire preparing one for eternal service in God’s kingdom. Christians can also be salt, if been purified by God’s holy fire. If salt looses it saltiness it has no further purpose, but to be thrown away. In the same way, once impurities (sin) creeps into a Christian’s life, a Christian loses transformation power.
