Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinks of this water shall thirst again; But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water sprining up unto everlasting life. (John 4:13)
Within this portion, Christ points us to himself. He alone can quench a spiritual thirst. We can drink from the wells of the world, yet when the moment of pleasure had past, the thirst sets in again. However, the Son of God can provide all that is needed. He makes us to become a well, providing everlasting living water to all around us.
