But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes, we are healed. (Is 53:5)
This verse has throughout the ages brought perspective to many Christians, during times of trials and temptations. Jesus stood trial and bore our punishment. For our pleasures and sins, He took God’s full penalty upon Him. How then can any Christian keep on sinning, if God did not even spare his own Son from His wrath on sin? Let us run our spiritual race, fixing our eyes on Him!
