For the Lord loves justice, and forsakes not his saints; they are preserved forever: but the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. (Ps 37:28)
Within these words of David, we get to know the Father’s heart of God. He loves justice. Justice is a principle grounded in His infinitive love. Love without justice is hypocrisy, justice without love leads to mercilessness. Yet God is full of justice and full of mercy. As we look into the suffering of Jesus on the Cross, we find that justice and love merge into His eternal sacrifice. Therefore having paid this big price, we know that He will not forsake his saints. He will preserve them. We have this great promise from him.
