Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honour. (John 12:24-26)
Within this portion, Jesus gives the secret of being honored by God. It is do give away one’s own life and to serve Christ. If we fight to keep it, we will loose it, yet if we give it away, we will find life eternal. A missionary once said, “he is no fool that give away what he cannot keep, in order to receive what he cannot loose“. It is in our giving away of ourselves here and now, that brings in an eternal harvest.
