Awake!

Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion; Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city! For the uncircumcised and the unclean shall no longer come to you. Shake yourself from the dust, arise; Sit down, O Jerusalem! Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion! (Isaiah 52:1-2)

This time we are living in, is a time where Christians can be captive by many things, loose their power and fall asleep spiritually. As with the enchanted ground where Christian and Hopeful need to travel through (Pilgrims Progress of John Bunyan) shortly before they reached their destination. They had to make every effort to be on the alert. They did this by discussing God’s things and the lessons they had learned. Within this text God calls on His church, His bride to arise and to get ready. He warns that the unclean will soon no longer be able to enter God’s Holy city. Therefor loosen bonds of sin around your neck, as He has paid for your salvation through His Blood, shake off the dust of laziness and despondency and arise! Jerusalem, those that has hearkened His call and prepared themselves may sit down at His tables, are you one of them?
