Spiritual Sleep

And when he rose up from prayer, and came to his disciples, he found them sleeping from the grief, And said unto them, Why sleep you? rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation… (Luke 22:45-46)

The greatest battle in all the Universe converged in Gethsemane upon Jesus. Yet, He was alone, for His disciples were in a world of their own. They felt drowsy, and could not fight it anymore. In our waiting on God, we also might become drowsy, and doze off. Yet it is the valiant soldier of Christ that overcomes his sleep, go on his knees and plead for God to intervene and provide the promise for the victory. A great victory wrought, very often is anchored by a prayer-line to the heavenly throne.
