Treasures

“And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry. But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul will be required from you; then whose will those things be which you have provided? So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God” (Luke 12:19 -21)

A Thought for Today: 4 July 2020

Within this text the man was speaking to his own soul. He said to himself that he can rest now, because he has enough for many years. Yet an eternity was awaiting him, and there were only a few hours before he would enter into it. Where our treasure is, there our heart will also be. Where is your treasure, is it perhaps only on this earth? We don’t know when we will meet up with death. See then to it, that your treasure will be in the right place!
